Nstall OS X 10.11.4 (or later). I would first check to to see if your Mac is compatible to upgrade the the latest version of MacOS. One thing to note about MacOS Catalina is that it drops support for 32-bit applications. If you still use 32 bit applications you could upgrade to MacOS Mojave, 10.14 if your Mac supports it.
There are rumors that Microsoft is about to remove Windows Media Player, starting with Windows 10 1709. However, the popular Windows Media Player was not removed in 1903, 1909 either. The Windows Media Player only has to be activated on some systems so that as a Windows 10 user, you have it available again and can play all video formats.

If you deactivate Windows Media Player, it will not be uninstalled, nor will space on the hard drive be saved.

- From the Apple menu, select App Store....

- Next to 'Format:', make sure OS X Extended (Journaled) is selected. In the 'Name:' field, give your disk a name. Click Erase.
- Once it's completed, quit Disk Utility.
- Click Reinstall OS X, and then Continue:
- Follow the instructions on the screen, and then choose your hard disk.
- Click Install. If prompted, enter your Apple ID information.
- Once the installation is complete, you'll be asked to enter basic information, and have the option to transfer data from another computer or backup.
- From the Apple menu, select App Store, and then install any available updates.
